Both these plays reveal the story of king Udayan. The former is the story of his love for Vasavdatta which ends in marriage while the latter is the story of his marriage with Padmavatee in an attempt to regain his kingdom.These two dramas written by Bhaas are in this book. ही दोन्ही नाटके राजा उदयानची कथा सादर करतात. वासवदत्ताशी त्याची प्रेम जुळून त्यांना विवाह होतो, ही कथा स्वप्नवास व दत्ता आहे. तर राज्य परत मिळवण्यासाठी त्याचा पद्मावतीशी विवाह होतो. ही कथा दुसऱ्या नाटकात आहे. ही दोन्ही नाटके भासाने लिहिलेली आहेत. नाटकांची पार्श्वभूमी, कथा सारांश, मध्यवर्ती कल्पना हे सर्व आधी मराठीत दिल्यामुळे वाचकाला संस्कृतमधील मूळ नाटके समजणे सोपे जाते.
