Raghuvansha (panchamaha kaavye)

Description

As the name suggests, Raghuvamsham is the poetical description of Mighty King Raghu?s race, the ancestor of Rama (???) distributed in 19 chapters or sargas. It begins with King Dilip (?????). iIt portrays the ideal king who protects the virtues, who is modest and unselfish and who is involved in annihilation of evil deeds. Kalidasa uses simile while adding his unique quality to this Mahakavya.

नावावरूनच कळते की, ही सामर्थ्यशाली रघुकुळाची काव्यमय कथा आहे. रामाच्या पूर्वजांचे वर्णन यात आहे. यात १९ सर्ग किंवा प्रकरणे आहेत. राजा दिलीपाच्या (….) कथेने याचा प्रारंभ होतो. गुणांची मदद करणारा, निस्वार्थी आणि नम्र असा हा राजा दृष्कृत्यांचे पारीपत्य करणारा होता. या महाकाव्यात कालीदासाने त्याच्या अद्वितीय उपमा अलंकाराची अनेक ठिकाणी भर घातलेली आहे.
