Description

This Purana is a part of Avanti Khand of Skand Maha Purana. It includes various aspects like vice-virtue, their effects, the ways to overcome them, etc. It also tells us about the various names of River Narmada, the tales related to it, its origin, importance of bathing in it, its future position, its significance, etc. The book is a combination of original Sanskrit shlokas and their meanings.

स्कंदमहापुराणातील अवंती खंडाचा एक भाग म्हणजे हे पुराण आहे. यामध्ये सद्‌गुण-दुर्गण त्याचे परिणाम. त्यांच्यावर मात करण्यासाठीचे उपाय यासाऱ्याचे अंतर्भाव आहे. नर्मदेची विविध नावे ही यात आहे. तसेच या नावामागच्या कथाही आहेत. नर्मदेमध्ये स्नानाचे महत्व, नर्मदेचे भविष्यातील स्थान नर्मदा नदीची सांकेतिकता वगैरे गोष्टींचेही यामध्ये वर्णन आहे. मुळ संस्कृत श्लोक आणि त्याखाली त्यांचा अर्थ असे यापुस्तकाचे स्वरूप आहे.
