Avimarak, the hero is the son of King Sauvirraj and is actually named as Vishnusen. Due to the curse of Sage Chandbhargav; the king along with his family has to perform the duties of executioner for a period of one year. During this period, king Sauvirraj along with his family takes refuge in Vairanteya, the kingdom of Kuntibhoja. Meanwhile, as Vishnusen kills the demon ?Avi? people start calling him ?Avimarak? the killer of Avi. His mother Suchetana is the sister of King Kuntibhoja. Kurangi, the daughter of Kuntibhoja falls in love with Avimarak and after many hurdles; the love story finds a happy ending.

(३००/-). कथेचा नायक अविमारक हा राजा सौविराज याचा पुत्र. त्याचे खरे नाव विष्णू सेन. राजाचा चंद्रभार्गव या ऋषीच्या शापामुळे कुटुंबासह एक वर्षाची मातंगाची शिक्षा होते. या काळात तो कुंतीभोज राजाच्या वैनतेय नगरीत आश्रयासाठी जातो. त्याचा पुत्र विष्णुसेन हा दरम्यानच्या काळात ‘अवि’ या दैत्याचा वध करतो. म्हणून लोक त्याला अविमारक म्हणू लागतात. त्याची आई सुचेतना ही कुंतिभोजाची बहिण असते. कुंतीभोजाची कन्या कुरंगी ही अविमारकाच्या प्रेमात पडते. अनेक अडथळ्यांनंतर या प्रेमकहाणीचाही सुखद शेवट होतो.
