Description

This is an epic composed by Jayadeva, a 12th century poet. It reveals various forms of Krishna as exuberant , blithesome, winsome, tender, passionate, audacious, dextrous, apologetic, unpretentious, tactful, joyful and exultant one. It embodies the great wealth of Jayadeva?s devotion and mystical experience. It is a great poetical masterpiece in twelve cantos of melodious verses and songs in Sanskrit. The theme of it is the love of Radha and Krishna, symbolizing the longing and striving of the individual, for communion with God, culminating in their blissful union. The language and the imagery express the most intense form of love in all its moods and phases.The original Sanskrit shloka along with explanation make reading a wonderful experience.

१२ व्या शतकातील कवि जयदेव याची ही रचना आहे. या काव्यात कृष्णाच्या अनेक रूपांचे वर्णन आहे. एक आनंददायक, खेलकर वृत्तीचा, आमोद-प्रमोद आवडणारा, दोष दूर सारणारा, धाडसी युक्तीने वागणारा, विजयश्री मिळवणारा समृद्ध आणि अत्यंत माधुर्याने वागणारा अशी कृष्णाची अनेक रूपं जयदेवांनी उभी केली आहेत. १२ धर्मातील ही रचना काव्यातील एक अजोड नमुना आहे. संस्कृत भाषेतील ते एक अत्यंत मधुर काव्य आहे. राधा आणि कृष्ण यांच्यातील प्रेम हा याचा विषय आहे. देवासाठी, त्यांच्या भेटीसाठी तळमळणाऱ्या आणि अखेरीस त्याला जाऊन मिळणाऱ्या त्यांच्या भक्ताचे ते प्रतीक आहे. या काव्याची भाषा आणि कल्पनाविलास प्रेमाची एक अत्यंत उत्कट अवस्था आपल्यापुढे उभी करतात. मूळ संस्कृत आणि त्याचा भावार्थ वाचकाला एक अद्‌भूत अनुभव देऊन देतात.
