कलचुरीच्या राजाकडे राजशेखर नावाचा एक ब्रा्हमण कवी होता. तो फार उत्तम कवी होता. गरिबांपासून श्रीमंतापर्यंत सर्वांना त्या काव्याची मोहिनी पडे. यातील पहिले काव्य हे उपहासात्मक व हलके-पुलके आहेत तर दुसरे काव्य देव या कलचुरीच्या राजाच्या जीवनावर आधारित आहे.
