End of Dwapara Yuga and Beginning of Kali Yuga ? Kali Yuga is considered to be 432,000 years long. After the end of the Dwapar era, India was first invaded by Mahmand bin Qasim in 711, then the Arabs invaded Rajasthan, Gujarat. Nagbhat, the founder of the Gurjar-Pratihara empire, and the Chalukya chieftain Pulakeshi defeated the Arabs and drove them across the Indus. Many invasions like Shahabuddin Ghori, Qutubuddin Aibak led to the establishment of Muslim power, Chhatrapati Shivaji Raj’s Hindu Swarajya period caused many shocks to Islamic power. It was the period of decline of Aurangzeb. Then during the Peshwa period, the Maratha Empire flourished during the reign of Bajirao Peshwa. After that the British rule was the period of independence. Then Hindu-Muslim conflict, followed by partition, Kali Yuga brought advancement in science. But due to its misuse, the author has presented the challenges of Kali Yuga such as environmental degradation, self-centered changes in human attitude. The author also feels that the excess of chauvinism is also a major problem in the Kali Yuga.

द्वापार युगाचा अंत आणि कलीयुगाची सुरुवात- कलीयुगाचा काल ४,32,000 वर्षांचा मानला जातो. ‘द्वापार युगाच्या अंतानंतर भारतात ७११ मध्ये महमंद बिन कासीमने पहिले आक्रमण केले, त्यानंतर अरबांनी राजस्थान, गुजरातवर आक्रमण केले. गुर्जर – प्रतिहार साम्राज्याचा संस्थापक नागभट व चालुक्य सरदार पुलकेशी यांनी अरबांना पराभूत करून सिंधू पार हाकलले. शहाबुद्दीन घोरी, कुतुबुद्दीन ऐबक अशी अनेक आक्रमणे मुस्लिम सत्तेची स्थापना होण्यास कारणीभूत झाली, छत्रपती शिवाजी राजांचा हिंदवी स्वराज्याच्या काळात इस्लामी सत्तेला बरेच हादरे बसले. औरंगजेबाचा तो ऱ्हासाचा काळ ठरला. त्यानंतर पेशवेकालात बाजीराव पेशव्यांच्या काळात मराठा साम्राज्याचा उत्कर्ष झाला. त्यानंतर ब्रिटिश राजवट म्हणजे पारतंत्र्याचा काळ होय. त्यानंतर हिंदू-मुस्लिम तंटे, त्यानंतर फाळणी, कलियुगाने विज्ञानात प्रगती केली. पण त्यामुळे त्याच्या चुकीच्या वापरामुळे पर्यावरणाचा ऱ्हास, मानवी वृत्तीत झालेले आत्मकेंद्री बदल, ही कालीयुगातील आव्हाने लेखकाने मांडली आहेत. चंगळवादाचा अतिरेक हीपण कलीयुगातील एक मोठी समस्या आहे, याचे भानही लेखक देतात.
