Product Description

"Dandee who was a great Sanskrit poet is the writer of Kavyashastra and Karyadarsh. This present work is based on ‘Ten Princes’ or young men. Dandee has used the Vaidarbhee and the Goudee styles of writing in all his work. The above mentioned work reveals the Goudee style. It is characterized by lengthy samas or compound word constructions and the harsh consonants. He was famous for ‘Padlalityam’. Dandee has described his words as ‘those hypnotizing even the highly intelligent ones.’ He also believed that his work gave a sense of complete involvement and joy to the readers. He firmly believed that as the honey bee forgets herself after testing the very first droplet of honey, the lovers of poetry should forget themselves only after reading a few words of a poet; thus should be the power of the words of a poet. Poetry should reflect all the nine rasas or which can be called as sentiments in pure English. "
